Endowments / Scholarships
Listed below are the endowed funds available for students at Catherine McAuley High School:
Auger Scholarship Fund
Established in 1990 in honor of Sister Mary Louis Auger, awarded to a student who is entering Catherine McAuley High School from a local Catholic elementary school and in need of tuition assistance.
Germaine Botto Scholarship
Established in 1996 for scholarship support for deserving students at Catherine McAuley High School.
Ann C. Conroy Scholarship
J. Eileen Conroy, CH ’50 established the Endowed Ann C. Conroy Scholarship in loving memory of her sister in December, 2003
Margaret C. Craven
Established in 1987 by Sister M. Rita Thornton, CHS ’28, for tuition assistance for a deserving student entering her senior year at McAuley High School.
The Forst Fund
Established by Mr. and Mrs. Thomas M. Forst in 1997 in honor of three daughters, Christine, ’87, Carrie, ’88, and Kimberly, 92. $5,000 is to be used for financial aid for needy students with special consideration given to those who participate in sports.
Hollis and Ida Steele Hanson Fund
Established by Ida Steele Hanson in 1997 in memory of her beloved husband and in support of young people and their education at Catholic institutions – McAuley High School.
Janice M. Hutinson Award
Established in 2000 through the Will of Muriel A. Hutchinson in loving memory of her daughter.
Sister Edward Mary Kelleher Scholarship
Established in 2004 to honor Sister Edward Mary as she completed her 25th year as principal of Catherine McAuley High School. The scholarship is to be awarded to student/s who having completed their first year are recognized for leadership, service, and academic excellence. (Funds may be added to this Scholarship at any time.)
Kerr Family Scholarship
Agnes, CH ’24, and Helen, CH ’28, Kerr established a Charitable Remainder Trust as part of their estate plans. The Endowed Trust to be known as the Kerr Family Scholarship was funded in November, 2003.
Manning Fund
Established in 1995 in memory of Henry B. Manning to defray the cost of entering and remaining at Catherine McAuley High School.
Sister Mary Gerald McLellan Scholarship
Established in 2004 from funds that were donated to Catherine McAuley High School in loving memory of Sister Mary Gerald at the time of her death. (Funds may be added to this Scholarship at any time.)
Helen and Andrew McSween Scholarship
Established in 2005 by Mr. and Mrs. McSween through a Charitable Remainder Trust to honor their daughter Sally McSween and in loving memory of Andrew’s sister, Sister M. Dolores Sablone, and Andrew’s beloved teacher Sister M. Angela Roche.
Thomas & Sarah Norton Trust
Established in 1990 through Marie Cecile Norton’s Will in memory of her husband’s parents, Thomas and Sarah Norton. Income from the Trust is to provide a scholarship to an entering student at McAuley High School to help defray the cost of tuition and other costs.
Bishop Edward C. O’Leary Fund
Established by Bishop O’Leary through a gift from a benefactor.
The President's Scholarship:
Established in 2003 on the occasion of the installation of the first president at the school. The funds provide merit-based scholarship assistance to top performing students who have applied for acceptance to Catherine McAuley High School. (Funds may be added to this Scholarship at any time.)
Scanlon Family Fund
Established in 1992 by Catherine M. Scanlon, CHS ’36, and Anne E. Scanlon, CHS ’39, for tuition assistance.
Sr. Mary Evangilist Ward & Sr. Mary Jerome Murphy Fund
Established by an anonymous donor in 1999 to benefit a student or students attending McAuley High School with evidence of economic need, personal effort, who has made contribution to family and community and shows academic ability.
Silva Family Fund
Established in 1987 towards scholarship support for deserving students.
