On January 11, 2012, three Catherine McAuley students were welcomed at the State House in Augusta in honor of their achievements during the 2011 regular softball season.

McAuley sophomores, Heather Chapman and Samantha Libby, as well as freshman, Taylor Whaley, played for the Gray-New Gloucester Senior Softball Team, and were honored with a special legislative sentiment in recognition of being  undefeated during the regular 2011 season, for winning the state tournament, and for progressing to the regional tournament, making it within two games of the World Series.  Chapman, Libby, and Whaley were also part of this same team that won the 2010 Junior Little League State Championship.

These three talented young women will be sure to lead their McAuley Softball Team to great success this coming season. Way to go, ladies!!
