McAuley Students Plan Mercy Day Surprise
September 24, 2008 – 7:13 pm http://www.mcauleyhs.org/images/PDF_Icon.gifOn Wednesday, September 24, eight students from Catherine McAuley High School made a surprise Mercy Day visit to Sr. Anne Marie Kiah’s second grade classroom at Holy Cross School. The visit also coincides with a special year of Sr. Anne Marie’s — her golden jubilee as a Sister of Mercy.
Sr. Anne Marie holds a special place in the hearts of many McAuley students. Our young women recall Sr. Anne Marie as a warm, caring, loving teacher — one who truly epitomizes the qualities of mercy.
After presenting Sister with a bouquet of flowers, Sr. Anne Marie thanked them with a sheet of stickers — a sought-after prize they remembered getting as second graders.
Those who attended the surprise visit were Helen Gillis, Jackie Dubois, Sadie DiPierro, Liz Harnois, Olivia Locke, Morgan Wheeler, Katie Dubois, and Shelby Bryant.
Unable to attend were Priya Ahluwalia, Rachael Bornheimer, Nikki Connolly, Margaret Cruz, Tara Delcamp, Danielle Foster, Nona Gillis, Chrissy Peaco, Olivia Porch, Catherine Tracy, Mary Leasure, and Katie Poulin.
