McAuley Students to Participate in Capitol Hill & Titan Challenges
February 10, 2012 – 6:34 pm http://www.mcauleyhs.org/images/PDF_Icon.gifBest of luck to the students of Catherine McAuley High School as they embark on two challenges in the coming weeks: the Capitol Hill Challenge (February 6 – May 11) and the Junior Achievement Titan Challenge (February 15).
The Capitol Hill Challenge, also known as the “Stock Market Game,” places students in scenarios where they invest in stocks, bonds and mutual funds, and manage a hypothetical online portfolio. The team will be paired with an actual Member of Congress. Students Caroline Golden, Alexa Coulombe, Jaime LaCasse, Kaili Aloupis, Marielle Thete, Monia Mukiza, Viola Ogak, Su Oh, Johanna Shin, Katie Poulin, and Christina Murray, all members of Mr. Wagner’s Honors Economics class, will represent McAuley.
The Junior Achievement Titan Challenge will be held at USM’s Glickman Library on February 15. Students Caroline Golden, Alexa Coulombe, Jaime LaCasse, Kaili Aloupis, Marielle Thete, Monia Mukiza, Viola Ogak, Su Oh, Katie Poulin, Christina Murray, Audrey Thames and Libby Gajewski will team with local business owners to compete in real-life business simulations.
Excellent work, ladies!
