Camps

Catherine McAuley High School features summer camps at McAuley for girls ages 8-14 (grades 3-8). Sports camps include basketball, cheerleading/dance team, field hockey, soccer, lacrosse and volleyball. Fine arts programs feature dramatics, along with digital photography and creative writing. In addition, a girls’ leadership camp is available for young women to discover their strengths and limitless potential.

Equipment you’ll need:

  • Comfortable sneakers
  • Swimsuit and towel
  • Bag lunch
  • Cleats (optional) for soccer, field hockey, and lacrosse camps
  • Mouth guard (optional)
  • Equipment pertaining to individual camp (field hockey and lacrosse stick, etc.)

All camps are directed by McAuley’s dynamic faculty and other experienced professionals, along with assistance from our own students.

All camps are held Monday-Thursday from 8:30-2:30pm.  Friday release is at noon. * (In the camp descriptors below, please note a schedule and time change surrounding our Dramatics and Soccer Camps.)

New this year is our Extended Day Program, which will occur Monday-Thursday from 2:30-5:00pm!

Each camp is $200 for a one-week session.  A $25 discount will be applied for each additional week of camps attended.  A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to participate in each camp.  The extended day fee is $20/day or $70/4 days.

Leadership for Girls: June 27 - July 1, 2016

Come learn just how great and powerful you truly are! This arts and education camp will focus on a new, dynamic and positive theme each day centered around creating girls as leaders. Girls will deconstruct media, gain role models, build relationships and gain the skills necessary to change their world! Bring your swimsuit!

Volleyball: June 27 - July 1, 2016

Instruction in the fundamentals of the game will emphasize skill development and team-building concepts. Individual skill building will also take place! Come have fun and bring a swimsuit!

Dramatics: July 5 - 8, 2016

Learn the on-stage and off-stage art of theater in this fun, interactive camp. Experience writing, casting, costuming and performing your own play while gaining skills in technical work, lighting, hair and makeup. Bring a swimsuit too!

Soccer: July 5 - 8, 2016

An overall soccer experience teaching the basics while also building on already-mastered skills! Learn skills, strategies and teamwork while having fun with your new friends! Bring a swimsuit!

Digital Photography & Creative Writing: July 11 - 15, 2016

Join us for a week of exploration and creativity! Come paint the landscape, explore digital photography and pull it all together with writing. Students will learn to use digital photography and editing tools to create landscapes. Along the way we will pause and reflect on our creative process. The week will culminate with an open exhibit of work!

Basketball: July 11 - 15, 2016 & July 18 - 22, 2016

Get a solid foundation in basketball skills, techniques and strategies. Come experience sportsmanship, teamwork and safety while having fun and meeting new friends! Be sure to bring your swimsuit!

Lacrosse & Field Hockey: July 18 - 22, 2016

This unique combination camp will build a solid foundation for beginners while also addressing more advanced strategies and techniques. All aspects of each game are covered, including stick handling, cradling, passing, catching and shooting. Team play will be highlighted, as well as instruction on individual skills. This camp is sure to be fun! Bring your sticks and a swimsuit!

Cheerleading & Dance Team: July 25 - 29, 2016

Girls will learn the fundamental skills for cheering and being part of a dance team. They will stunt, learn chants and cheers, choreography and safety! Comfy clothes and sneakers are required, as well as a swimsuit!
